LoriLori Newell, M.A., R.C.C.

Lori is a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 15 years of experience counselling adolescents and adults. In addition to private practice, Lori has worked in several settings including a stress and anxiety clinic, a non-profit agency for sexual abuse survivors, The Canadian Cancer Society and a British therapeutic school for children.  

Lori is best known for her expertise with adolescent girls and women in assisting them to cope with anxiety, stress and self-esteem.  Lori has extensive knowledge working as a parent educator and is trained to facilitate parenting groups (STEP) as well as provide personalized parenting coaching.  She also works on issues such as family of origin, relationship difficulties, depression, sexual abuse, disordered eating, life transitions and trauma.  Lori assists her clients to resolve personal challenges, equips them with coping skills and build strengths that can lead to an optimal life experience.  Lori uses several techniques that complement each other such as Mindfulness Therapy, CBT, Lifespan Integration and EMDR.

Lori is a mother, wife, friend, sister, daughter, dog lover and a shameless optimist who brings warmth, sensitivity and passion to all aspects of her life.  She understands the need to grapple with challenges in life in order the see the lessons within.  She absolutely loves what she does and is inspired by our capacity for healing and growth. She brings her optimism and sensitivity to her work every day.
